Fernie is a beautiful place with mountains, rivers, waterfalls and huge sense of fun. One of the reasons I love it here is that the wilderness surrounding us makes it very easy to take great photos. There a lot of expansive views and hidden away treasures that can be visited again and again through the different seasons. The Elk Valley is also famous for its wildlife, so if you bring your camera you might be lucky enough to see, among others, elk, deer, bears, goats and mountain sheep. If you add to that the historic town centre with its restored turn of the century buildings and the friendly smiles you see every day, you really can’t go wrong.
