Fernie is served by Calgary International Airport and Cranbrook Airport. A number of airlines fly from Europe to Calgary direct, including British Airways, Air Canada, and the airlines coordinated by Canadian Affair. It is also possible to fly with other carriers via the USA.

Many passengers arrive at Calgary Airport every year to be greeted by the white hat volunteers. The rental pickup is just across the road from arrivals, and after signing for the car, many people are surprised at how easy it is to drive to the Lodge.

From the regional Airport at Cranbrook, passengers from Vancouver and Salt Lake City arrive to find that they only have a one hour drive along the beautiful Crowsnest Highway once they have picked up the car.
